Little House of Hopes

4:54 a.m.
Well, it looks like I'm moving again, and it will be sooner rather than later. For the few people in the universe who have not had to listen to my ranting of the past few weeks, I moved in with a girlfriend last May. I'll be brief here and say it didn't work out as well as I'd hoped.

If I'd been smart and not so stubborn, I would've heeded Colburn's warning that I wouldn't be happy here at Elin's. Evidently I had to learn that for myself. I finally came to my senses during Dog Poop Weekend and realized I had to save myself and get out. You see, dear friend, I moved in with a woman who has five dogs and doesn't mind dog shit on the floor. She went out of town, they didn't like it, and I spent the weekend cleaning up. That was my decisive moment.

Originally I planned to move sometime in early August, then I learned Elin's two grandsons are coming to visit next week. That means I've moved from number seven in the pecking order around here to number nine. So, I'm moving next week to the little house on the corner. The little house in the oaks. The little house with the large yard.

Lyle Lovett has his Large Band. I have my large yard. More about that later, I'm sure.

Time to sign off for now and catch a few zzzzzzs before going to work and then heading west for a weekend with my simple country boy. Maybe I'll get a job offer today...

Welcome to the neighborhood and "country living." You are following in the footsteps of some neat people in the house - lots of family, and friends we consider family, like you.

And by the way, Lyle Lovett will be at the Bass October 10 & 11. Maybe we can discuss the Band/Yard comparison with him personally.

I'm sure the large band is much more trouble to take care of and feed than your large yard will be.
